Walker had a 5″ reach advantage over “The War Horse” which proved to come in handy, particularly in the closing stages. There were no nerves from the debutant as he engaged in histrionics to distract his opponent, mockingly rubbing his thigh after a leg kick.

But it was Walker’s prowess and speed that got the better of Rountree as well as a head kick that proved to be a turning point in the fight. The follow-up left hand saw Rountree stumble, opening the gate for Walker to come in for a clinch.

Working in close quarters, Walker was able to land a short elbow and a knee that caused a lot of damage. His third strike sent Rountree to the deck allowing a ground and pound by way of two more forceful elbows. Rountree appeared to be already knocked out by the time the follow-up strikes came, but it was beyond doubt moments later as the referee swooped in to prevent further damage.
